The Echelon Group was headline sponsor of the 2024 Tpas Conference, which took place at the Double Tree Hilton Coventry on Wednesday 10 and Thursday 11 July.
The team also exhibited at the event, which focused on engagement and influence, examining how we can raise standards across the sector and explore solutions to some of the most pressing issues. Tenants, sector professionals, campaign groups and academics came together to discuss engagement methods, the dawn of a new ‘regulatory’ era, and much more.
Echelon Group CEO Mathew Baxter participated in the session ‘Tickbox or Transformation? The Impact of New Regulations on Tenants’ alongside Jack Smith, Assistant Director Assessment and Tenant Engagement, RSH, Stephen Walker, Director of Customer Operations, Moat, and Ibby Ismail, Board Member, MSV Housing. The panel discussed the Procurement Act and The Better Social Housing Review’s report on repairs.
Mathew also delivered a workshop on the second day of the conference, focused on defining ‘vulnerability’ in which Mathew asked tenants a series of questions via Slido about landlords’ approaches to vulnerability and capturing vulnerabilities, and conducted an analysis of wider review orders and maladministration cases from the Housing Ombudsman, as well as discussing the new Consumer Standards. The session received exceptional feedback from its attendees.
It wasn’t all work for the team… during the conference dinner, they got to celebrate England’s semi-final win in the Euros with the other delegates.
The Echelon Group will also be sponsoring the 2025 event.
