Richard’s role covers Business Development across the Echelon Group. This includes Echelon Consultancy, Pretium Frameworks, Quantum Training, and Echelon Improvement Partnerships (EIP).

He is responsible for helping clients to source the support they need, whether that be in procurement, operational delivery, commercial activity, ICT functionality, training and competency requirements, or collaborative working through a wide range of best practice activities available through AMIP and EIP. By working group-wide, he is in the unique position to understand clients and offer the services that best suit their needs and budget.

With more than 35 years of experience in social housing, he has worked extensively with clients, contractors, and manufacturers. His career has encompassed every facet of business growth and bid writing, starting in direct sales, then spending 18 years managing tenders and proposals, and later moving back into client-facing positions. He has honed his skills through two separate Chartered Institute Diplomas, one in Marketing and the latest in Leadership and Management.

Richard thrives on competition and played rugby for an incredible 47 seasons in a row, only retiring in the last couple of years. He now spends a lot of his spare time in the gym but can’t drop the competitive edge, taking part in the last three CrossFit Games. He also loves to cook and go on relaxing ‘fly and flop’ holidays.
