Making Connections at the Housing Community Summit 2025
Members of the Echelon Group team travelled to Liverpool to attend the Housing Community Summit, which took place on 8–9 September 2025 at the Exhibition Centre Liverpool.
The event brought together thousands of housing professionals, stakeholders, politicians, and residents to discuss the future of social housing.

The ‘Sip Before the Summit’
Ahead of the main event, the Echelon Group hosted the first ‘Sip Before the Summit’ networking evening on Sunday 7 September at Albert’s Schloss. The informal gathering welcomed over 80 attendees and provided an opportunity for conversations and introductions before the conference began.
Housing Community Summit Highlights
The team took part in a range of sessions and activities over the two days. Richard and Millie attended the Novus & WISH Lunch and Learn, focused on male allyship in the workplace, aboard The Daffodil at Albert Dock, while Joe joined the SureServe ‘Decarb Tea Party’. The group also attended the Housing Community Summit’s official networking events, and Mathew and Sharon joined the Cardo event at the Cavern Club.
Sessions and Key Themes
Several sessions provided valuable insight, particularly in the Housing Management & Engagement theatre. Topics that stood out included:
- Resident engagement with building safety
- Attracting, inspiring and retaining the next generation of talent
These sessions encouraged reflection and offered practical ideas for the future.
The Summit offered an opportunity to connect with colleagues from across the sector, revisit key issues, and hear different perspectives. Over the two days, the team balanced attending sessions with networking and discussions, making the most of the programme on offer.
Looking Ahead
The Housing Community Summit 2025 was a valuable opportunity to engage with sector-wide conversations and strengthen connections. Attention now turns to the Echelon Conference on 9 October at the Emirates Stadium: The Future is Here. This upcoming event will bring together colleagues and partners from across the housing sector to share ideas, hear from expert speakers, and continue the conversations started in Liverpool.
